Script 1:

Ben: Hey, you look tired. Are you okay?

Charlotte: Not really.

Ben: What’s wrong?

Charlotte: My grandma fell down the stairs last night. I stayed up in the hospital all night with her.

Ben: Oh, no. That’s too bad.

Charlotte: I’m really worried about her.

Ben: I’m so sorry. I hope she feels better soon.

Narration: In English, we say “I’m sorry to hear that,” when we hear bad news.

Ben: Why the long face? You don’t look too good today.
